Instructions | Specimen: BOTH 3mL(0.5mL) Packed RBCs and 3mL(0.5mL) Plasma. - Keep Refrigerated. Container: Royal blue-top (EDTA) metal-free tube Collection: Both packed cells and plasma are required. Separate before shipping. Failure to separate may cause rejection due to hemolysis of red cells and contamination of the plasma. Transfer RBCs and plasma into separate plastic, acid-washed, or trace metal-free tubes. Specimen must be received at the test facility within five days of collection. Causes for Rejection: Failure to separate plasma and red cells; specimen received more than five days after collection |
