| Instructions | Specimen Type: Lavender-top (EDTA) tube, OR sterile container (CSF or urine) Specimen Storage: Whole blood is STABLE at room temperature or refrigerated for seven days. Urine is STABLE refrigerated or FROZEN for seven days. Plasma and CSF are STABLE at room temperature or refrigerated for seven days or FROZEN for 90 days. fluid is STABLE at room temperature. Specimen Collection: Plasma must be separated from cells within 24 hours. Send in a plastic transport tube. To avoid delays in turnaround time when requesting multiple tests on frozen samples, PLEASE SUBMIT SEPARATE FROZEN SPECIMENS FOR EACH TEST REQUESTED. |
