Instructions COLLECTION:
  • Collect specimen in a Gold SST or Red Top No Gel tube. EDTA, NaCitrate and Oxalate plasma specimens are also acceptable.
  • Allow serum specimens to clot completely before centrifugation.
  • Serum and plasma should be separated from cells within 2 hours of collection.
Note: Label specimen with patient name (first and last) or other unique identifier, patient hospital identification number or last 4 digits of the Social Security Number. Date and time of collection and collectors initials must also be listed on the specimen.

TRANSPORT/STORAGE: Refrigerated

STABILITY: Samples may be stored refrigerated for up to 7 days.
Reference Range An interpretive report will be provided.

Notes Peak levels: collect the sample one hour after an intramuscular injection; 30 minutes after ending a 30-minute intravenous infusion; or immediately after a 60-minute intravenous infusion.
