Instructions | Collect specimen in a serum gel tube(s) from a fasting patient ( 12 hours). Lithium Heparin (Mint) tube is also acceptable. Centrifuge clotted blood specimen within 2 hours of collection preferred. Send 3 mL (minimum volume: 1.5 mL) of serum refrigerated. Note: Label specimen with patient name (first and last) or other unique identifier, patient hospital identification number or last four digits of the Social Security number, date and time of draw, collector initials, and test(s) being ordered. Profile Information: Triglyceride, Cholesterol, LDL Cholesterol (Calculation)High-Density Lipoprotein (HDL), Cholesterol/HDL Ratio, Non-HDL Cholesterol. Note: If triglycerides are 400 test will reflex to LDLD, LDL Cholesterol, Direct. |
