Samples should not be taken from patients receiving therapy with high biotin doses (i.e. > 5 mg/day) until at least 8 hours following the last biotin administration. Separate serum from cells within 45 minutes of collection and Freeze. Transfer specimen to a plastic transport tube before freezing. To avoid delays in turnaround time when requesting multiple test on frozen samples, PLEASE SUBMIT SEPARATE FROZEN SPECIMENS FOR EACH TEST REQUESTED.
