Expected TAT | 6-10 days |
Clinical Use | This culture will recover both Mycoplasma hominis and Ureaplasma urealyticum, if present. No environmental cultures performed. This testing is not suitable for determining mycoplasma contamination in any cell line or tissue culture. Limitations: Culture may be negative in the presence of infection, and the presence of Ureaplasma urealyticum or Mycoplasma hominis does not always indicate infection, although there is a significant association with symptomatic disease. |
