Instructions Collection Instructions:
Collect Naso-pharyngeal specimens according to standard protol using nylon-flocked, flexible-shaft NP swab and place in
viral transport media (UTM-RT, M4, M4-RT, M5).

Alternative specimen:  Nasal Washing, placed in viral transport media as soon as possible
Minimum volume:  1 mL

Transport: Refrigerated (2-8°C)
If transport time does not exceed 4 hours specimen may be transported at room temperature (18-13°C).

Stability:
Room temperature (18-30°C) for up to 4 hours.
Refrigerated (2-8°C C) for 3 days.
Frozen (<15°C)for 30 days.

Minimum volume for analysis: 1 mL

Reject due to:
1. Specimens collected ion Calcium alginate swabs or swabs with wooden shafts.
2. Specimens transported in transport medium other than those listed above.
