Instructions | Draw a full, light blue-top (3.2% sodium citrate) tube. It is important that the collection tube is properly filled to the fill line indicated on the tube. Under-filled tubes will result in falsely prolonged values due to dilution of plasma with anticoagulant; and therefore cannot be processed. (Blood drawn from a heparin line is not acceptable.) Do Not Spin. Note: Label specimen with patient name (first and last) or other unique identifier, patient hospital identification number or last four digits of the Social Security number, date and time of draw, collector initials, and test(s) being ordered. |
